Doug Mahlum

Doug Mahlum is an 13 year veteran of the Great Falls Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau as a General Case Detective investigating crimes from Homicide to White Collar Crimes. Detective Mahlum has been assigned to Investigations for the last 5 years. Detective Mahlum’s specialties are focused on the crime scene and Blood Stain Pattern Analysis and has trained extensively on the topic. Detective Mahlum has been qualified as an expert on the topic of Blood Stain Pattern Analysis.

Mahlum grew up in Wolf Point, MT in a Law Enforcement family. In 2001 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Minot State University, Minot, ND, where he was a starter for the Minot State Football Team.

Detective Mahlum has worked numerous major crimes/homicides in his short career with the Great Falls Police Department. He’s extremely committed to the philosophy of the Montana Violent Crime Investigator’s Association and has served through the chairs of the Executive Board.
